2. AGM or LFP?

This is one of the biggest decisions when configuring your UPS1048V2.

AGM

AGM is a proven battery technology widely used in UPS applications. It offers a lower initial cost, maintenance-free operation, and reliable standby performance.

AGM may be the better fit when the initial project cost is a priority and power outages are relatively infrequent.

LFP

Lithium Iron Phosphate, or LFP, provides advantages for applications experiencing frequent outages or where accessing the equipment for maintenance is difficult.

LFP offers benefits including longer operational life, higher cycle life, lighter weight, and reduced maintenance requirements.

For remote infrastructure, those differences can become especially important over the life of the installation.

3. How Much Backup Capacity Do You Need?

Battery chemistry is only part of the decision. You also need to determine how much backup capacity your application requires.

For standard installations, the 7Ah AGM provides an economical starting point.

Moving to 12Ah AGM or 12Ah LFP provides additional battery capacity for applications requiring longer backup periods.

For extended-runtime applications, the UPS1048V2 Pro LFP30 features four 30 Ah LFP batteries providing 1,440 Wh of nominal stored energy.

This makes the larger configuration especially attractive for applications such as

4. Do You Need Remote Management?

Do you need to know what is happening with your UPS without visiting the site?

If the answer is yes, consider a managed UPS1048V2 configuration with the UPMS2000 Remote Power Monitoring System.

UPMS2000 adds remote monitoring, alarms, event logging, and system management capabilities.

For supported LFP batteries, administrators can also access additional battery information, including State of Charge (SoC), State of Health (SoH), battery temperature, charging status, and charge/discharge information.

This can be especially valuable when managing multiple remote or difficult-to-access locations.
